WINTERTHUR'S CLOCKS
Winterthur's horology collection includes more than 100 fine timekeepers. Several may be viewed during the one-hour guided tour of the house museum, and more may be examined during the optional 2-hour clock tour offered at additional cost to symposium attendees. (These tours must be reserved in advance with Winterthur tour staff.)
Winterthur curators Ann Wagner and Josh Lane also have created a special exhibit for the symposium. "Striking Beauties: American Shelf Clocks and Timpieces" will display many additional clocks not regularly on view.
The following roster was created and annotated by Bob Frishman. It is based upon the Winterthur Museum's online catalogue, where photos and details may be viewed in the order shown here. More than 60,000 objects in the Winterthur collection now are available online to the public.
